IMRA America promotes Gyu C. Cho to Vice
President of the Technology Development and Product Group
ANN ARBOR, Mich., August 1, 2007—
IMRA America, Inc. (IMRA), a global leader in the development of ultrafast fiber laser technologies for commercial
applications, today announced the promotion of Gyu C. Cho to Vice President of
the Technology Development/Product Group and Vice President of Laser
Research.
Dr. Cho, who joined IMRA in 1998, was previously the Director of the
Technology Development and Product Group. In his new position, he has
increased responsibility for IMRA laser product development and production
operation as well as for IMRA laser R&D.
Before coming to IMRA, Dr. Cho worked at Lucent Technologies/Agere
Systems on high power chip design and Raman fiber amplifier development and
also served as a Research professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy,
New York. His technical publications throughout his career have resulted in a
scientific citation index more than 350. He also has been awarded numerous patents.
He received a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in Physics from Aachen
University of Technology in Germany. Dr. Cho is a member of the Optical Society
of America, the American Physical Society and the International Society for
Optical Engineering.
