IMRA America opens a second Applications Research Laboratory
ANN ARBOR, MI, May 24, 2005 —
IMRA America, Inc. announces the upcoming opening of a second Applications Research Laboratory at its Ann Arbor, MI facility.
According to Takashi Omitsu, President of IMRA, “This facility will both provide better
coverage to the Eastern part of the United States, and also add some complimentary capabilities to IMRA’s original facility in Fremont, CA. I hope that we can
enhance this Ann Arbor facility to accommodate the increased interest in biotechnology and nanotechnology in the near future.”
IMRA’s Applications Research Laboratory (ARL) is focused on employing our new technologies, and on helping our customers to evaluate their
new or existing applications using our fiber lasers. To advance the state of technology, ARL collaborates with different leading institutes and high-tech
industrial partners from around the world.
Areas of expertise include micromachining of features in metals, thin-films, plastics, semiconductors, and glass, as well as creation of waveguides in glass.
IMRA utilizes this type of facility to allow potential customers access to the latest fiber laser technologies and welcomes all interested parties to contact
IMRA for details on setting up tests.
